Judi Grove, had been a life insurance agent for over 23 years. In January, 2007 she faced a breast cancer scare and learned about Keep A Breast Foundation on the Internet where two young women were raising breast cancer awareness by making plaster casts of women’s torsos. She wanted to make a cast of her own breasts in case her diagnosis indicated a mastectomy was necessary. Needing the materials to do this, and contacted Nancy Coryell, owner of Anticipation Ultrasound Studio in Tulsa, OK, who sold “belly casting kits” to pregnant women. Judi and Nancy met, shared stories and agreed there was a need to raise awareness in our own community and throughout the world. Together they started Breast Impressions, Inc. Since that time, Breast Impressions has had many opportunities through speaking engagements, community awareness events, and by publishing a calendar of breast cancer survivors in Oklahoma. Now Breast Impressions is working with leagues of the Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby to raise awareness and fundraise for local breast cancer projects in cities across the United States! Always looking for new ways to reach women and men, we welcome invitations to work with churches, civic groups, and sports organizations to help save lives through early detection!
